It is an honest account of where the thinking behind this practice comes from — the thinkers, the works, and in a few cases the games and stories that shaped how I see organizational problems. The connections between nodes matter as much as the nodes themselves.

Most of what Freehold does is produce a structural picture that has always been there in pieces but that no single system — or single vantage point — currently assembles. That is, at its core, a philosophical problem. The tools are analytical. The instinct behind them is older.
